Built for electrical work

Where electrical days go sideways, and what Relay does about it

  1. 01

    Scope creep on every install

The customer adds four recessed lights on site, nobody writes it down, and the invoice turns into a debate.

    In Relay

Revise the quote and send it again. The customer signs the new version online, and Relay keeps the earlier version on record so the agreed scope is never in doubt.

    Quotes signed online
  2. 02

EV charger calls that need a panel decision

Half of the EV charger requests turn out to need a panel upgrade, and the customer balks at a surprise second quote.

    In Relay

Send the EV charger options in one quote: the charger alone, with surge protection, or with a panel upgrade when the panel is full. The customer picks what fits.

    Quotes signed online
  3. 03

Permit steps slip through the cracks

A panel goes in, but the inspection never gets scheduled because it was on a sticky note in the truck.

    In Relay

The panel upgrade checklist starts with confirming the permit and ends with scheduling the inspection. Required steps must be ticked before the visit can close.

    Phone checklists, photos and signatures
  4. 04

Troubleshooting calls that never become quotes

The electrician finds the fault, fixes the obvious part and leaves without offering the surge protector or panel work the house needs.

    In Relay

The troubleshooting checklist ends with repair options and prices before starting. The office turns them into a quote the customer can sign from their phone.

  5. 05

    Crews double-booked across jobs

A rough-in runs long and the afternoon service call is left waiting with no warning.

    In Relay

Move visits on the day view and Relay flags conflicts before saving. Turn on automatic visit-time-changed emails so customers hear about the new time.

FAQ

Electrical questions, answered

Can customers sign electrical quotes online?
Yes. Each quote has a private link where your customer can view, download, approve and sign it. Relay emails you when they answer, and revisions keep the earlier version on record.
Can I quote an EV charger with and without a panel upgrade?
Yes. The electrical template includes EV charger options: the charger alone, with surge protection, or with a panel upgrade. Customers choose one option and sign.
Does Relay help with permits and inspections?
Relay does not file permits. The panel upgrade checklist includes steps to confirm the permit is pulled and to schedule the inspection, and the template has a permit and inspection fee you can add to the quote.
Can I track panels and generators at each address?
Yes. Save equipment such as electrical panels, subpanels, generators, EV chargers and surge protectors on the customer record, so the next electrician sees what is installed.
More questions (2)
Can I see if a job made money?
Yes. Electricians track time on each job and add parts on the visit. Job profit shows what each job made after labor and parts.
How much is Relay for an electrical contractor?
Solo is $59/month for one user. Team is $149/month with 5 users included, then $29/month for each added user. Both plans have every feature, a 30-day free trial with no card, and no contract.
