For flooring companies

Flooring software from the tape measure to the final walk-through.

Measure the rooms, take the moisture reading and quote LVP, hardwood or tile side by side. Relay keeps the square footage, subfloor notes and before and after photos on the job, so the crew installs what was sold.

30 days free, no card required; then $149/month. 5 users included.

Built for flooring work

Where flooring days go sideways, and what Relay does about it

  1. 01

Square footage lost between estimate and install

The estimator measured 540 square feet on a notepad, and the crew shows up with material for 480.

    In Relay

The measure and estimate checklist saves total floor area, the existing floor and the subfloor type as required fields, with a before photo of the room. It stays with the customer record for the install crew.

    Customer records and history
  2. 02

Moisture problems that show up as cupped boards

A floor goes down over a damp slab or subfloor, and months later the boards cup and the customer calls you.

    In Relay

Take a moisture reading at the estimate and again before laying. The install checklist records subfloor moisture and the days the material acclimated, so the numbers are on the job if a question comes up.

    Phone checklists, photos and signatures
  3. 03

Customers comparing LVP and hardwood by price alone

One number for LVP and the customer goes online to price hardwood on their own.

    In Relay

Send new floor options in one quote: laminate or LVP, LVP with new trim, or hardwood with new trim, priced per 100 square feet. The customer picks one and signs online.

    Quotes signed online
  4. 04

Prep work that never makes the invoice

Tear-out, subfloor sheets, leveling and furniture moving get done and forgotten when the bill goes out.

    In Relay

Old floor removal, subfloor repair per sheet, leveling, furniture moving and disposal are their own services. Add them to the quote and they carry to the invoice when the customer approves.

    Invoices and card payments
  5. 05

Multi-day floor jobs that crowd the calendar

A refinish needs sanding, stain and three coats over several days, and a second job gets booked on top of it.

    In Relay

Book each day of the job as its own visit on the week view with conflict checks, so the crew is not promised to two homes at once.

FAQ

Flooring questions, answered

Can flooring installers price jobs per 100 square feet?
Yes. LVP and laminate, hardwood, tile, carpet, refinishing, removal and leveling are priced per 100 square feet in the template. Set the quantity on each quote line to match the job.
Can flooring crews record subfloor moisture readings?
Yes. The measure checklist has a field for wood subfloor moisture, and the install checklist records moisture before laying and the days the material acclimated. Relay saves the numbers; the flooring maker's limits decide what is acceptable.
Does Relay handle hardwood refinishing for flooring companies?
Yes. The refinish checklist records the stain color, finish type and number of coats, with before and after photos. The template has sand and finish and screen and recoat services.
Can a flooring company charge for tear-out and subfloor repair?
Yes. Old floor removal, subfloor repair per sheet, floor leveling, furniture moving and a disposal fee are in the template, ready to add to any quote.
More questions (2)
Do flooring customers sign quotes online?
Yes. The customer gets a link, picks an option such as LVP or hardwood, and signs. Approved quotes turn into invoices they pay by card through your own Stripe account.
What does Relay cost for a flooring company?
Solo is $59/month for one user. Team is $149/month with 5 users included, then $29/month for each added user. Both plans have every feature, a 30-day free trial with no card, and no contract. A whole-house install and a single-room repair cost the same to run in Relay.
