Plain-language summary
The short version
- Relay is software for running a service business. These terms are a contract between your business and SixStack LLC.
- Solo is $59/month for one user. Team is $149/month with 5 active users, plus $29/month per extra active user. Both include 250 customer texts a month, then 3 cents per text.
- Start with a 30-day free trial, no card needed. After that, Stripe bills monthly. Cancel any time; you keep access until the end of the month you paid for. We don’t refund partial months.
- Your data is yours. We process it only to run Relay for you, and you can export it any time.
- You must have permission to email and text your customers, and you must follow the law when you do (no spam).
- Payments your customers make go to your own Stripe account. We never hold your money.
- The AI assistant is optional and only drafts. You review everything before it is used.
- Relay is provided as is, our liability is limited, and Idaho law applies. If something goes wrong, email us first and we will try to fix it.
This summary is here to help you find your way. The full text below is what applies.
Agreeing to these terms
These Terms of Service are an agreement between SixStack LLC, an Idaho limited liability company (“SixStack,” “we,” “us”) and the business that signs up for SixStack Relay (“you”). You accept them when you create an account, start a trial, subscribe, or use Relay. Our Privacy Policy and Refunds and Cancellation page are part of these terms.
The person who signs up must be at least 18 and have authority to accept these terms for the business. Relay is for business use, not personal or household use.
What Relay does
Relay is field service management software for service businesses. It helps you take customer requests, send quotes, schedule and dispatch visits, give technicians a phone app for the day’s work, send invoices and take payments, offer a customer portal and memberships, email customers and, if you turn it on, text them. It also includes an optional AI drafting assistant, Relay Assist.
Relay is not an emergency dispatch or phone service, a payroll or full accounting system, or a source of legal, tax or financial advice. We don’t promise any particular business result.
We improve Relay over time and may add, change or remove features. If a change would significantly reduce what your paid plan includes, we will tell you in advance, and you can cancel.
Accounts and your team
- Give accurate account information and keep it current.
- Each person needs their own login. Don’t share logins, website form links, exports or billing access with people who shouldn’t have them.
- Keep passwords safe, and remove a team member’s access when they no longer need it.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account, including what your team members do in Relay.
- Tell us right away at the address below if you think someone has used your account without permission.
Free trial
New businesses get a 30-day free trial with full access. No card is needed to start, and if no owner subscribes, nothing is charged when the trial ends: the workspace becomes read-only until an owner subscribes through Stripe Checkout. You can still sign in, view and export your records. One trial per business; we may decline a repeat trial.
An owner may subscribe at any time during the trial. Stripe Checkout then saves a payment method, the trial continues, and the first monthly charge is taken when the trial ends. If fewer than two days of the trial are left, Stripe’s minimum applies and the first charge is taken up to about two days after the trial would have ended; Relay shows the exact date before you subscribe. Cancel before that date and you are not charged.
Plans and prices
- Solo, $59/month: every feature for one user. To add a second user, move to Team.
- Team, $149/month: includes 5 active users. Each additional active user is $29/month, prorated by Stripe from the day that user becomes active. Relay asks an owner to confirm the added cost before adding the user. Invited people are not billed until they accept, and disabled users are not billed.
- Customer texts, both plans: 250 texts sent per billing month are included. Each additional text is 3 cents ($0.03), billed on your next invoice. Unused texts don’t carry over, and texts sent during the free trial are not billed.
Prices are in US dollars. If taxes apply, they are shown at checkout or on your invoice. If we change our prices, we will email account owners at least 30 days before the new price applies to you, and you can cancel before then.
Billing
Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize Stripe to charge your payment method each month for your plan, and on the next invoice for extra users and extra texts. Owners can update the payment method, see invoices and cancel in Stripe’s billing portal, opened from Settings, Billing in Relay. Stripe’s terms apply to how Stripe processes those payments.
Failed payments and suspension
If a payment fails, Stripe may try it again. While the account is past due, your workspace is read-only: your team can still sign in, view and export records, but can’t add or change work, and website requests, automatic messages and reminders pause. Full access comes back as soon as payment succeeds. If an account stays unpaid, we may end the subscription after giving notice by email.
If you dispute a SixStack Relay charge with your bank or card issuer, we treat it like a cancellation while the dispute is open: the workspace becomes read-only in the same way, and you can still sign in, view and export your records. If the dispute is resolved in our favor, full access comes back automatically. If you think a charge is wrong, please contact us first; we will correct billing mistakes.
Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel any time from Settings, Billing (Open Stripe billing) or by emailing us from an owner’s address. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing month you have already paid for, and you keep full access until then. Any extra texts used in that last month may appear on a final invoice.
We don’t give refunds or credits for partial months, unused users or unused texts, except where the law requires it or where we charged you by mistake. When you disable an extra Team user part-way through a month, Stripe credits the unused part of that user’s charge to your next invoice; it is not paid out as cash. Details are on the Refunds and Cancellation page.
Your data
You keep all rights to the information you and your customers put into Relay (“your data”). You give us permission to host, copy, process and send your data only as needed to provide, secure and support Relay for you, to follow your instructions, and to meet legal requirements. For your customers’ information, you are the controller and we are your processor and service provider, as described in the Privacy Policy. We don’t sell your data.
You are responsible for having the right to collect and use your data, for keeping it accurate, and for responding to your own customers’ requests about it. Owners can export your data at any time, including after canceling. We may use information about how Relay itself performs (for example, error rates or how many quotes are sent in total) to run and improve Relay, as long as it doesn’t identify you, your customers or any person.
Messaging your customers
When Relay sends an email or text for you, you are the sender. You decide who receives messages and what they say, and you are responsible for following the laws and rules that apply, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the CAN-SPAM Act, state telemarketing and quiet-hours laws, CTIA messaging guidelines and mobile carrier rules.
- Only text customers who have agreed to receive texts from your business, and record that consent accurately in Relay. Don’t mark a customer as consenting unless they actually agreed.
- Use texts for messages about your customers’ service, such as visit updates, quotes, invoices and replies. Don’t use Relay to send marketing texts without the written consent the law requires.
- Relay automatically honors STOP (and similar words) and replies to HELP with your business’s contact details. Don’t try to work around an opt-out, and honor opt-out requests you receive any other way.
- Relay adds an unsubscribe link to marketing emails, such as campaigns. Use accurate sender details and subject lines, and honor unsubscribe requests.
Texts are sent through Twilio from a number SixStack operates for the businesses that use Relay. Carriers can filter or block texts, so we can’t guarantee delivery. Texting is available on paid plans only: it is not available during a free trial, and it pauses while a payment is past due and resumes once the plan is paid. If your business has its own texting number, that number and its carrier registration are released when your subscription ends and can’t be recovered. We may pause texting for an account if we see complaints, high opt-out rates, carrier warnings, or messages that break these terms.
Payments from your customers
You can let your customers pay invoices, deposits and memberships by card or US bank account through your own Stripe account, connected to Relay with Stripe Connect. When you connect, you agree to Stripe’s terms, including the Stripe Connected Account Agreement.
- Payments go directly to your Stripe account. SixStack never receives, holds or transfers those funds.
- SixStack does not currently add its own fee to these payments. Stripe charges its processing fees under its terms.
- You are the seller. You are responsible for your prices, taxes, refunds, chargebacks, disputes and any Stripe fees. Refunds you issue in Relay are processed through your Stripe account.
- SixStack is not a party to the sale between you and your customer.
- If you turn on saved cards, customers can save a card or US bank account with your Stripe account and can agree to autopay. You may charge a saved payment method only for amounts the customer owes you, and charge it automatically only after the customer agreed to autopay. Relay records that consent and its date, never charges more than the invoice balance, and retries a failed autopay charge at most once. Customers can remove a saved method or turn autopay off at any time, and you must honor that. You are responsible for disputes about those charges.
Quotes, signatures and customer links
Relay can send your customers private links to view, approve, sign or decline quotes, pay invoices, book visits and join memberships. Anyone who has a link can open it, so send links only to the right customer. When a customer approves a quote online, Relay records the name they typed, the time and the options they chose. The quote and the approval are an agreement between you and your customer. You are responsible for making sure online approvals meet the legal requirements for your work.
If you turn it on, customers with a customer portal account can reschedule or cancel their own visits within the rules you set, such as how close to a visit they can change it and whether you approve each change first. You decide those rules and remain responsible for the visits you agree to. A cancellation policy note you add is shown to customers as you wrote it; Relay never charges cancellation fees for you.
Relay Assist (optional AI)
Relay Assist is off until an owner turns it on. It can summarize a request, draft a customer email or work summary, and suggest a quote using your saved services and prices. Its results are drafts. They can be wrong or incomplete, so a person must review them, and you are responsible for anything you save or send.
When Relay Assist is on and someone uses it, the information needed for that task is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic. SixStack does not use your data to train AI models. Relay Assist has a monthly usage limit and may sometimes be unavailable; the rest of Relay keeps working without it.
Connected services
You can connect Relay to services run by other companies, such as Stripe, Google Calendar and QuickBooks Online. Their own terms apply to your use of them. We are not responsible for those services, and you can disconnect them in Relay at any time.
Acceptable use
Don’t use Relay to:
- break the law or help someone else break it;
- send spam, unwanted marketing, or texts or emails to people who haven’t agreed to receive them;
- harass, threaten or mislead anyone, or send phishing, scams or content carriers prohibit;
- access another business’s data, or test, scan or get around Relay’s security without our written permission;
- upload malware, overload the service, or scrape or copy Relay in bulk;
- resell Relay or copy, change or reverse engineer its software, except where the law allows; or
- store payment card numbers, Social Security numbers or health records in notes, forms or files.
Suspension and ending the agreement
We may suspend or limit an account, or a feature such as texting, to deal with unpaid bills, a breach of these terms, a security risk, a legal requirement, or a requirement from Stripe, Twilio or a mobile carrier. When we reasonably can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.
You can end this agreement by canceling your subscription. We can end it with at least 30 days’ notice by email, effective at the end of a billing month you have paid for, or sooner if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms. What happens to your data afterward is described in the Privacy Policy.
Our software and your feedback
SixStack owns Relay, including its software, design and content. While your account is in good standing, you may use Relay for your business under these terms. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything.
Disclaimer of warranties
Relay is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent the law allows, SixStack makes no warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We work hard to keep Relay running and accurate, but we don’t promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that every email or text will be delivered, or that Relay Assist drafts will be correct.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, SixStack will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, business or data, even if we were told they were possible. SixStack’s total liability for all claims relating to Relay or these terms is limited to the amount you paid SixStack for Relay in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Some places don’t allow these limits, so parts of them may not apply to you.
Indemnity
If someone brings a claim against SixStack because of your data, the messages you send through Relay (including claims under the TCPA or similar laws), your dealings with your customers, or your breach of these terms or the law, you agree to defend SixStack and pay the resulting costs, damages and reasonable legal fees. We will tell you about the claim promptly and cooperate reasonably.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Idaho, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any lawsuit about Relay or these terms must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Idaho, and both of us agree to those courts’ jurisdiction. Before filing a claim, please email us and give us 30 days to try to resolve it informally.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Relay and the law change. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If we make a significant change, we will tell account owners by email or in Relay before it takes effect. If you keep using Relay after a change takes effect, the updated terms apply; if you don’t agree, you can cancel.
Other legal terms
- These terms, with the pages they refer to and your order, are the whole agreement between us about Relay.
- If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- If we don’t enforce a term right away, we can still enforce it later.
- You may not transfer this agreement without our written consent. We may transfer it as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of our business.
- Neither of us is responsible for delays caused by events outside reasonable control, such as outages at providers we depend on.
- We will send notices to the owner email address on your account. Send notices to us at the address below.
- Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable law.
