Built for lawn care work

Where lawn care days go sideways, and what Relay does about it

  1. 01

Forty lawns a week, rebuilt by hand

The mowing list lives in a notebook or a spreadsheet, and every new customer means rewriting the week.

    In Relay

Set weekly or every-other-week mowing as a recurring plan and put it on a named route like Tuesday North. Each visit lands on the route day in stop order; skip one stop when a customer is away and the plan stays put.

    Scheduling and recurring plans
  2. 02

Driving back and forth across town

Stops are listed in the order customers signed up, so the crew crosses the same bridge three times a day.

    In Relay

The dispatch map shows each crew's stops and suggests an order. My day lists them in that order with one tap to directions.

Dispatch map and suggested stop order
  3. 03

    Treatment rounds with no record

A customer asks what went down in May, and nobody wrote down the product or the rate.

    In Relay

The lawn treatment checklist confirms the product and rate for the round, keeps product off walks and drives, and leaves the lawn sign and care note.

    Phone checklists, photos and signatures
  4. 04

    Small invoices, lots of chasing

Dozens of small mowing bills each month, and the same handful of customers always pay late.

    In Relay

Customers pay by card online through your own Stripe account, and unpaid invoice reminders can go out on their own. The customer portal shows every invoice in one place.

    Invoices and card payments
  5. 05

Selling the full season up front

Customers buy mowing week to week, so the schedule and the cash flow both swing with the weather.

    In Relay

Offer a season membership like Weekly Lawn Care with included visits and a member discount on aeration, fertilizer and cleanups.

FAQ

Lawn care questions, answered

Can I set up weekly mowing routes?
Yes. Set weekly or every-other-week mowing as a recurring plan, then group plans into named routes with a stop order. Visits land on each route's day in that order, and a rained-out day moves to tomorrow in one step with Move day.
Does Relay put my stops in order?
Relay suggests a stop order for each crew on the dispatch map, and you can change it. It does not reroute crews while they drive.
Can I sell a season-long lawn plan?
Yes. The template includes a Weekly Lawn Care membership with 30 weeks of mowing and a member discount on add-on work. You set the price and terms.
Can I record fertilizer and weed control rounds?
Yes. The lawn treatment checklist has steps to confirm the product and rate, apply evenly, keep product off hard surfaces and leave the lawn sign. You can add your own steps or fields.
More questions (2)
Can customers skip or move a week?
Yes. Drag a single visit to a new day without changing the rest of the plan. Customers can get a visit-time-changed email when you turn that message on.
What does Relay cost for a lawn care business?
Solo is $59/month for one user. Team is $149/month with 5 users included, then $29/month for each added user. Both plans have every feature, a 30-day free trial with no card, and no contract. One person mowing alone can use Solo.
